Orlando Maker Faire

I will be displaying my Player Pipe Organ at the Orlando Maker Faire on October 22nd and 23rd. If you're in the area please stop by. Or, better yet, volunteer at the Maker Faire (and get in for free.)

  1. Good luck with it. Sounds like fun. It's quite an achievement..

    1. Thank you. I sounded particularly good in the large space that we were in for the Maker Faire in Orlando.

  3. Have you thought about having the micro perform the tuning? A tiny reversible DC motor, all thread, and a nut on the tuning block. Have a microphone and an audio board and have the micro measure the frequency.

  4. That would be a very elegant solution. Most of the pipes have tuning shutters but they would have to be reworked so they moved smoothly and consistently enough to be controlled by a dc motor. And of course anything I did I would have to do 42 times over, once for each pipe. But, I'm going to noodle about that and maybe build a test rig and see how it works. Thanks for the idea.
